So here we are! We will be over the Atlantic Ocean at about this time next week. I'm sure that everyone in my group is super excited and also kind of nervous at the same time. For me, I think this will be the longest time I've been away from home (aside from being at school), let alone out of the country for this long. I don't really know everyone all too well out of the whole group besides Dylan, but I am really eager to get to know everyone and make this a super enjoyable trip while soaking everything while we are over there.
This week for the pre-work, we were assigned a slideshow project of our country. In this slideshow we talked about a lot of general information about Hungary, some political and economics topics, and also a few things we will seeing and doing while over there. There are a lot of historical things we will be seeing such as, Heroes' Square, the Parliament Building, and other historical buildings. Some fun attractions we may see or visit are, the natural hot springs that fill the city-- Budapest is known as the city of spas--, a world record breaking tower made out of LEGOs, and Chain Bridge which is supposed to give a beautiful view both at night and during the day.
With all of that being said, I just can't wait to get this trip going. I'm going to miss my fiance, family, and my dog, but I know this will be a great trip that I will be sure to remember for a lifetime, and I know this sounds cheesy, but I hope to make lots of memories and hopefully become lifelong friends with all of you!
